Mary NurrieStearns, MSW, LCSW, RYT has over 35 years professional experience in mental health. She has been a yoga practitioner and meditator since 1990 and maintained a private practice in counseling since 1988. An advanced level yoga teacher, she conducts workshops on yoga and mindfulness, teaches meditation classes and facilitates meditation and yoga retreats.

A long time student of the relationship of body, mind and spirit, Mary served as editor of Personal Transformation, a magazine on psycho-spiritual growth and has been immersed in consciousness studies for over 20 years, working the leading authors and healers in transpersonal psychology, yoga and spirituality. She is author of several articles, co-edited the book Soul Living and co-author of the book Yoga for Anxiety (New Harbinger 2010), author of the upcoming workbook Yoga and Mindfulness for Mental Wellbeing. She has produced a video and CD’s on yoga, mindfulness and profound self-acceptance.
